What is Blab?

Blab is something quite difficult to describe. Since the late 80s they have been recording albums of recordings - music, mini plays whatever came to mind that day or night. There are about 100 albums i think, maybe more. Genius, hilarious or wierd, its all there.

It's also a game: invent a sound/instrument for someone to play, put them in a hat, pick your instrument, take it in turns to record, mix, track finished. Its all because of the 4 track recorder - you can record a lot of tracks onto a 4 track. (Later an 8 track and now - computer.)

There have been some attempts to play live in interesting disguises.

BAND

Based around a core of musicians: John Cura, Richard & John McMullen, Arthur Finlay. Loads of other people have joined in - especially from Edinburgh.
